Discover How It's Done: Our Process
At Abbeydale Geoscience we work in a way that makes the investigation and assessment process as streamlined and easy as possible for clients like you.
The “rock”star treatment that you deserve
Abbeydale Geoscience is owned by Rick Saville, who’s been a chartered geologist since 2016. Our team are experienced in undertaking a range of environmental and geotechnical investigations for a variety of residential and industrial developments, Local Authority highway projects and much more.
Rick took over Abbeydale from its founder in 2024, and is very much enjoying running the company, including rebranding as Abbeydale Geoscience (previously Abbeydale Building Environment Consultants) as we look to help our clients to understand the potential risks and liabilities within the ground beneath their sites.
Continuing with a trend of providing a valuable and personable service, we are passionate about helping people to understand the value in the geosciences, whether geotechnical or environmental, and look to forge long-lasting relationships with clients. Often it’s the things that we can’t see that have the most value!
Helping more people get into the geoscience industry and study geoscience subjects is something that we are truly passionate about, as well all striving to create a more sustainable world and reduce the impacts of human activities on the natural world.
Every journey starts with a first step...
We work closely with our clients right from initial enquiry, guiding you through the whole investigation process & providing quality aftercare once the investigation process is completed.
1. Get in touch
Send us as much information as possible about your site, including a proposed layout plan if you have one, and any Planning Conditions that have been conditioned.
Or if it's a project you've got coming up that's no problem; we're always on hand to help.
2. Scope & costs
Once we have information on your site, we put together a bespoke package of works that's appropriate to the scale and type of development, any planning conditions and the anticipated ground conditions under the site.
3. Bringing it together
After carrying out the necessary assessment & investigation we then collate all of the information. We use plans, tables and graphs to clearly display information and make it easier to digest and understand.
4. Analysis & Assessment
After bringing together all the information we carefully interpret the data to see how the ground conditions are likely to affect the proposed development, from both geotechnical & geo-environmental perspectives.
We work closely with our clients to see if there are any ways that the design can be tailored to the conditions identified; often this can help to make developing a site more cost effective & better for the environment.
5. Reporting & Solutions
We pride ourselves on providing reports that are concise, easy to understand and clearly explain how the ground conditions will affect your proposed development.
At Abbeydale Geoscience we like to provide a range of options based on the site-specific conditions, not just highlight the potential problems!
6. Support
Our service doesn't stop once you receive our report: we're more than happy to take the time to make sure that our clients understand the information in our assessments.
And if you want to discuss anything with us, you know that we’re only a message, email or phone call away!
Let us guide you, starting from whatever phase you’re currently at…
At Abbeydale Geoscience we offer a range of services that are designed to help at whatever stage you're at in the development process; from initial Phase 1 Desk Studies and feasibility studies, through to Phase 2 Ground Investigation, detailed assessment, preparation of Remediation Method Statements, validation testing and Verification Report.
